Bye, Bye Paci

We finally took the bullet and got rid of the paci's a month ago. I've been wanting to do it for awhile, but kept finding every excuse to let them still have them at bedtime, but not anymore! It was a beautiful night outside and the Varcoes were out playing, so I bagged them all up and had the kids give them to baby Wyatt. They actually did surprisingly well without them. The first night there were some tears, but they have completely forgotten about them now. Woo hoo!

We also decided to put our house up for sale this month. I'm hoping we get lucky and someone puts an offer in and we find a great new house, but I'm also realistic. This house may not sell or it sells and we can't find something that we like and end up in a rental while we build. It's time to get some more closet space, bedroom space, garage space, kitchen space...you get the idea. We've simply outgrown our SE Florence home, but we will miss all of our great neighbors. Honestly, they're what has kept us from wanting to sell in the first place. Hopefully a new neighborhood will bring great friends too.

The kids have been busy enjoying this amazing Spring. It's been 80 degrees a few times and we're loving the sunshine. We took them down to the St. Patrick's Day parade with Papa, B and Leigh. Gwen and Papa brought over tattoos, necklaces, hats and all sorts of holiday decor for them to go crazy with. At one point I looked at Aubrey and realized she was wearing a St. Paddy's shot glass around her neck, but what the heck. It's not like she's doing whisky shooters...at least not in public :)

We're fast approaching the twins' 3rd birthday and Aiden's 2nd birthday. Crazy how time flies. I'm planning on one party for all three, but celebrating with just family on their birthdays. This year they're having a pony party, compliments of Mimi, so it's a western theme.

Aiden's vocabulary has continued to grow and he uses the potty almost everyday. He's still a goofy, lovey baby, who is sweet as can be. He loves to snuggle before bed and often stays up to watch some basketball with Daddy. He can sing his ABC's and count to 10 now. Aiden still loves Elmo and it breaks my heart that Sesame Street Live isn't coming to Des Moines anytime soon. We took the twins last year and they loved it and I know Aiden would think it's awesome. He loves to play baseball and can literally be content with only playing with a ball all day.

Owen has been a wild child lately...well, lets get honest here, more like the past year! He's hyper and crazy wrapped up into a little package. I'm anxious for his 3 year physical to see what percentile he is falls in. He's skinny Minnie and is wearing 2T clothes. Some possible good news is that he may have outgrown his peanut allergy. I took the kids to Papa's a few weeks ago and he ate part of a peanut butter cookie there. Luckily he didn't have a reaction, so I'm thinking it may be gone, but I was in the bathroom helping Aubs go potty, so I didn't actually he him eat it, so there's a chance he never ate the cookie, therefore didn't react....sign. Let's hope its gone!

Aubrey has hit the terrible 3's a little early. Don't get me wrong, she's still sweet, but she is also a little troublemaker and has selective listening. For example, they don't like to nap at home anymore. So what do they do? They push their mattresses off the bed frames and make forts out of them. After going into their room for the hundredth time, Aubrey tells Owen, "Don't worry. When she leaves we can do it again." Yep, she said that right in front of me. Stinker. Little Miss Attitude. She also called Adam a silly beaner the other day and has muttered a few naughty words...oops.
